Health Technology Assessment, Evidence Reviews, and Evaluation

Health Technology Assessment, Evidence Reviews, and Evaluation

Health technology assessment (HTA) is a multidisciplinary process that evaluates the potential or realized effects, and/or impacts of new or existing health technology, from a social, economic, organizational and ethical perspective. The goal of HTA is to support evidence-informed policy decision making.

Our HTA Unit conducts a comprehensive range of high-quality, focused, and timely HTA products, tools and services to support evidence-informed decision-making at various levels in the health system locally, nationally, and internationally.

Members of the IHE's HTA unit also conduct research to advance methods in health technology assessment and evidence review. Some of our core strengths are in systematic review methodology (overviews of reviews) and risk of bias. The HTA unit's innovations in the area of best practice and methodological development have contributed positively to the field of HTA.
